Permanent Exhibition --History Museum Café-- Deliverance Evangelistic Center, 826 South Tenth Street, Newark, NJ, 07108. The DEC was once the the home of Temple B'nai Abraham, Newark's second oldest synagogue. Using photographs and documents from the archives of the JHSMW, this exhibition highlights Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s appearance January 17, 1963 as a participant in the synagogue's community forum. Rabbi Joachim Prinz, a leader of the civil rights movement, invited Dr. King to speak. The recording of the speech delivered by Dr. King is at the JHSMW.
